14 September 2015, Vienna. Head of State Nuclear Power Safety Inspectorate (VATESI) Michail Demčenko and Chairman of the United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission Stephen G. Burns have signed the fifth Arrangement for the exchange of technical information and cooperation in nuclear safety matters.
“The Arrangement signed for another 5 year-term proves a long term successful cooperation between the nuclear safety regulatory authorities of Lithuania and the United States of America and could be presented as an example of technical information and knowledge exchange for enhancing the competencies of nuclear safety specialists and inter-institutional cooperation lasting over two decades”, said Michail Demčenko after the signing ceremony.
The first Arrangement for the exchange of technical information and cooperation in nuclear safety matters was signed in 1994.
