VATESI hosted representatives of Serbian Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety Agency

On 8–10th of September, 2015, State Nuclear Power Safety Inspectorate (VATESI) hosted representatives of Serbian Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety Agency, deputy head Mr. Branko Brajic and lawyer Ms. Jasmina Milovanovic.

The scientific visit was focused on the regulatory framework of regulation and supervision of nuclear safety, radiation protection of activities with sources of ionizing radiation in the area of nuclear energy, physical security of nuclear and nuclear fuel cycle materials and implementation of international obligations of non-proliferation.

 

Colleagues from Serbia were interested in the legal status, activities and functions, practices of safety regulation and supervision of VATESI as the regulatory body of the Republic of Lithuania. The guests also visited Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant.

 

The scientific visit was organized as a part of International Atomic Energy Agency‘s (IAEA) technical cooperation with Serbia project “Enhancing the Regulatory Infrastructure and Legislative system”.
