November 12, Vilnius. State Nuclear Power Safety Inspectorate (VATESI) in order to strengthen nuclear security in Lithuania became a member of European Nuclear Security Regulator‘s Association – ENSRA.
VATESI head Michail Demčenko stated, that there is a common need for closer cooperation and exchange of information and experience between European nuclear security regulators. Also this membership will give VATESI opportunity to gain international experience and to improve activities for upgrading security of nuclear facilities in Lithuania.
Currently the ENSRA members are 15 European nuclear security regulatory organisations from Belgium, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Hungary, Netherlands, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Poland and Lithuania.
