On 15 January 2018, VATESI submitted the updated Status Report of Plan of Strengthening Nuclear Safety in Lithuania (Lithuanian National Action Plan) to the European Nuclear Safety Regulators Group (ENSREG).
Lithuanian National Action Plan represents information about progress of implementation of safety improvement measures associated with post-Fukushima lessons learned and „stress tests” peer review recommendations and suggestions.
All safety improvement measures related to Ignalina NPP Units and Interim Spent Fuel Storage Facilities were completed in 2015. VATESI plans to implement two remaining measures related to further improvement of nuclear safety regulations in Lithuania in the first quarter of 2018.
Following the ENSREG decision, a status report from each in “stress tests” participated country on the implementation of the post-Fukushima National Action Plans needs to be updated and published periodically to ensure a transparent monitoring.
