5 July 2016. VATESI approved periodical safety evaluation report for Spent Nuclear Fuel Storage Facility of Ignalina NPP, which has a license for operation from 2004.
Ignalina NPP completed periodical safety review of the facility and presented a report for VATESI review. Periodical safety review of the nuclear facility is organized for every ten-year period.
In Spent Nuclear Fuel Storage Facility are stored 118 containers (20 containers CASTOR RBMK-1500 and 98 containers CONSTOR RBMK-1500) filled with spent nuclear fuel.
